Who are you?

There comes a point in life when you have to decide whose voice will define you.

One of the most powerful lessons Jesus demonstrated was that He could love people deeply without allowing their expectations to control His identity, His decisions, or His mission.

People misunderstood Him.

People criticized Him.

People wanted Him to become what they expected.

Yet Jesus remained focused on the purpose God had given Him.

That lesson matters for us today.

Many people spend years trying to keep everyone happy.

They say yes because they are afraid to disappoint someone.

They explain every decision because they desperately want to be understood.

They remain in unhealthy situations because they feel guilty about creating boundaries.

Eventually, they become exhausted from carrying expectations that were never theirs to carry.

You do not have to live that way.

You can love people without living for their approval.

You can be compassionate and still establish boundaries.

You can listen to advice without surrendering your calling.

You can disappoint someone and still be walking faithfully with God.

Your identity is not determined by applause.

Your value is not determined by criticism.

Your purpose does not disappear because someone misunderstands you.

And your calling does not require everybody's permission.

Jesus knew who He was.

He knew who sent Him.

He knew His purpose.

That clarity allowed Him to keep moving forward despite criticism, rejection, pressure, and misunderstanding.

We need that same kind of clarity.

Your identity is in Christ.

Your worth comes from God.

Your life has purpose.

And you do not need to spend another day trying to become the person everyone else expects you to be.

Love people.

Forgive people.

Pray for people.

Serve people.

But keep God at the center of your identity and direction.

If you are struggling with people-pleasing, boundaries, criticism, or the pressure to live according to other people's expectations, I encourage you to watch my full message here:

You were not created to spend your life earning everyone's approval.

Follow God.

Know who you are.

Stay faithful to your calling.

And keep moving forward.

God bless you.
